Immerse yourself in one of Bhutan's most revered religious celebrations during the Punakha Tshechu, held in the magnificent courtyard of Punakha Dzong. Set against the breathtaking backdrop where the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers meet, this annual festival is a vibrant expression of Bhutan's Buddhist faith, cultural heritage and community spirit.

Dedicated to Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the Punakha Tshechu features sacred Cham mask dances performed by monks and lay dancers, accompanied by traditional music, prayers and rituals. One of the festival's most anticipated moments is the unveiling of the giant sacred Thongdrel, believed to bless all who view it and cleanse negative karma.

This seven-day journey also introduces you to Bhutan's cultural highlights, including Thimphu, Dochula Pass, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, Chimi Lhakhang and the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery.
